Happy New Year everybody!!!! I've been reading through entries from others, and wanted to post my own entry to welcome the new year. I just can't believe that it's actually 2007. It seems like just yesterday when everyone was freaking out because it was going to change from 1999 to 2000 and the whole world might shut down. Now? Well, that was six years ago and the world hasn't come to a screeching halt.

My New Year's Eve was spent having the traditional; or maybe not so traditional who knows, party. However, in addition to new year's eve, we combined it into my 30th birthday party as well, so that party I've been talking about for over a year did happen. It was very, um, interesting, but I hope everyone enjoyed themselves over all. I got to see [livejournal.com profile] littlefroggy and I think it's been about twelve years since I saw her last, and [livejournal.com profile] sas_on_heels was there along with a bunch of other people. We had lots of snacks and things, and believe me, now we're trying to eat our way through our kitchen. We currently don't have a stove, and there's no room in our fridge for anything. We welcomed in the new year with noisemakers and sparkling grape juice; (by that time all the good stuff was pretty much packed up I think). I got some great stuff from people too, including a gift card for a great department store where I absolutely love to shop, Seventh heaven season 3 on DVD, and Punky Brewster season 2 on DVD. Punky is soooo cute!!!!! SMILE! I also got this really huge bottle of something that I've never had before, and I can't wait to try it out, but once it's opened it has to go into the fridge, and unfortunately that's not happening right now so I have to wait.

Before the party started, [livejournal.com profile] voyagerjc and I were taken out to dinner at a sports bar. It's kind of like an Irish pub thing, so when Ireland hit midnight, (6:00 PM Central time), we got to celebrate. They handed out party hats, noise-makers, and Champaign. We were there at a really good time, and their pub burgers are probably some of the best burgers around. Imagine 8 ounces of juicy meat piled on a bun with tons of bacon and mushrooms, with a really big pile of fries. There was so much there that by the time I got to the party I was pretty full, and it took me so long to finish my one piece of cake that when I finally finished with it everyone in the room cheered.

Once midnight came we all pretty much cleared out. I think I finally got to bed a little after 1:00, and throughout the night Taz kept meowing and meowing, and I never did really figure out what that was all about. I woke up at 8:00 and started watching the first disk of Seventh heaven. I plan to spend the rest of the day with my DVD player, the cats, and my new DVDs. This should be great!

I thought I'd leave everyone with a couple of pictures from the party. The cake was a quarter sheet cake, chocolate with butter cream frosting, and in the center was a picture of Taz and Cally. Sam's Club can take pictures and transfer them somehow onto edible paper, and that's what they did with my babies, so I ended up eating part of Taz's head. Hey, maybe that's why he was so noisy last night; he realized that part of his head was gone. SMILE! The other pictures are decorations, (balloons and streamers, and then a banner that was hung up that said happy birthday. The theme, (surprise surprise), was cats, and the closest thing I could come up with was hello Kitty, so most everything was Hello Kitty. So, for those that can see the pictures, enjoy, for those that can't, at least you'll have some sort of idea what they're about. Later everyone!

Well, today should be a really cool day. I'm going to a meeting, but we're going to have some fun too. Every year we have this Christmas party, and get a massive turkey dinner with all the fixings. There's also a fund-raising auction and people bring all sorts of baked goods and other treats to be auctioned off, and the proceeds go to the organization; that is, the soon-to-be new Wisconsin affiliate of the ACB. This year I've made two pans of the brownies that I've written about in previous entries. I found a set of disposable pans with lids in the shape of Christmas trees, and I used those pans. Unfortunately, due to space limitations, when removing the first pan from the oven I accidentally crushed the bottom a little. I hope it won't make people think it's not good. I've got some bows that I'm going to put on top, and there's my contribution.

I did get the Olympus that I wanted for my birthday, (yes it's early, but we've never been able to wait for the actual day anyway), so I'm going to be bringing it with me today to capture some of what promises to be a great day. And, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] johnmill79 who posted an audio link on his journal and inadvertently gave me an idea for a place to actually post my audio, I'm going to be able to share this audio file with all of you too, if you're interested in listening. And now that I've got a digital recorder, I guess I can't put off that promised Podcast much longer either, huh? SMILE!

In other news, since I've been so bad about updating, everyone that I knew who was pregnant this year has given birth. I've gotten to actually see two of the four babies in question, and they're absolutely adorable! I've got pictures, but I won't be posting those to the web since I don't have permission from the parents to be doing that. Let's just say though that one of the babies was two weeks old when I held him and he was the tiniest little thing! At the time he was under 7 pounds, but he's gained since then, and those little hands and feet were just too cute!!!!!! He was born on Thanksgiving and I got a phone call not too long after the birth. I love holding babies, and I must have a way with them because 99 percent of the babies I hold fall asleep on me, and always seem content. I'm always up for baby-sitting jobs too. SMILE!

Well, not too much else is happening. I'm working like crazy, and have only one more week to go before a long weekend. Three days more of work and then another long weekend. You gotta love the holidays!

Well, I think I'm probably going to go for now. We're going to go get on the bus in a little under an hour, and I want to load up my Book Port with some extra audio stuff since we'll have about a two-hour ride ahead of us. Later everyone, and if all goes well you should have some audio sometime tomorrow!
