So, it's Saturday afternoon, and I'm awake! Okay, I've been awake since 6:00 this morning, but I decided that it was a good time to write.
voyagerjc picked up a bottle of Melatonin for me yesterday and I tried it last night. I read for about a half hour before falling asleep. Around 10:30 PM I set a bookmark and remember absolutely nothing after that until 6:00 this morning. I think this was the deepest, best sleep I've had in some time. The only bad thing was that apparently I became a bed hog and managed to force Jim out onto the couch because I took up so much space. Hmm.
When Jim went to the pharmacy to get the stuff yesterday the pharmacist told him that it wasn't worth getting it because it was used to treat jet lag. I'd heard from many people though that it worked for them, so figured that it would be worth a try. The bottle is quite large, and has 240 pills in it. I guess they wanted $12 for the bottle. Considering how expensive drugs are, I think that's really a good deal for something that will last me about 8 months. SMILE!
When I woke up this morning, I had no dizziness, and no weird side effects that I've gotten in the past from prescription sleep aids. I mentioned to Jim that I felt great. It's possible of course that I was just so tired that my body basically told me off, but I guess only time will tell that for sure. It made me think though, so I decided to look into it a little more. The link I gave above will take you to a Wikipedia article that discusses all kinds of information from benefits to uses. The one thing I found interesting though was where it says, "Melatonin is practically nontoxic and exhibits almost no toxic side effects." Great! I can most definitely live with this! SMILE! And, check out all the other benefits that it could offer.
Anyway, that's my story, and I'm posting it just in case others might find the information useful.
