Well, the very last poll was posted today for [livejournal.com profile] therealljidol season 3. I finished reading the remaining 3 entries, and I've placed my vote. I can't believe it's been 6 months since it all started. Both [livejournal.com profile] johnmill79 and [livejournal.com profile] imafarmgirl did awesome, and I followed their progress from the beginning. [livejournal.com profile] agirlnamedluna came later, and I hadn't read as many of her entries, but now that she's in the top 3, she's my pick. I don't know how long it'll be before the next season starts, or even if there will be a season 4. What I do know though is that I intend to join. When this came up six months ago, I considered it, but felt that I didn't have enough time to devote to something like this. I still don't know about the time factor, but writing has always been fun for me, and something that often relaxes me. It's often said that a writer needs to write something every day. I used to do this when I was a kid, and sadly enough, as I got older, although I didn't lose the love of writing itself, I seemed to have lost the ability to make time, even if it's just ten minutes a day. I hope that LJ Idol will help me to get that back. Either that or it'll send me screaming in the opposite direction. SMILE! I sometimes feel that what I have to say might be boring to others, and I think that stops me from posting here unless something interesting is going on or whatever. I've also had those moments though where something happens and I'll think to myself that it would make a great journal entry. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. I don't know how far I'll go in this contest, especially since, compared to many of you, my Friend's List isn't very big, but I plan to give it a try. So, hopefully there's another season.

Thank you! I definitely urge you to join - it worked great for my "prompted writing" and it does give you some sort of "discipline", especially towards the end!

I've wondered what LJ idol was about. It sounds interesting. Would you have to write every day to be in it? Or is it a once a week kind of thing? I would want to know more about it because it does sound very interesting... and I like to write so maybe if it isn't every day I would want to do it too?

You know, the odd thing about writing is that it's difficult to tell what others will find interesting. I can drop an entry that I think is just about the best thing I've ever come up with, and everybody just walks on by. I can post something that is just blah to me, and seem to prick some kind of interest in everyone. The thing that Lj is teaching me is that all I can really control is the writing aspect, unfortunately I can't control my audience. lol But knowing this is freedom, it just causes you to put down what you want to write. If people decide that they aren't into what I'm posting, well I guess they'll just leave. I hate when that happens, but they certainly have that right. So, just keep that in mind, maybe it will allow you to open up more on these virtual pages.
