Recently a friend tipped me off to a music download site where you pay 9 cents per song. I have no problems paying for my music, but the problem has always been that these sites aren't overly accessible. This particular site is, accept for the payment process, which requires you to enter one of those annoying codes. However, because you create an account and establish a balance, you don't have to go through the graphic problem very often.

So, lately on the radio I've been hearing the songs by Kellie Pickler and Bucky Covington, two of the contestants from last year's American Idol. I loved Kellie from the beginning and was disappointed to see her voted off. Now though, I've heard two of her songs on the radio, and she's got an album out. Bucky was one of those people that I don't really remember all that much, but I like the song that is currently being played on the radio. The two songs that I've downloaded though are the Kellie Pickler song I Wonder, and Bucky Covington's song A Different World. I've mentioned in past entries that I really like songs that tell a story, or have some kind of message. I never really listened to either of these songs completely. I mean, I listened to them on the radio, but I never really paid full attention to the words. Kellie's song is a song that she's singing to her mom who left her when she was little. She's wondering what her mom would say to her if they ever met again, and if she'd even recognize her. One line that I really think is sad though is where she says "Cuz I look in the mirror and all I see Are your brown eyes looking back at me. They're the only thing you ever gave to me at all." Later in the song she says "Forgiveness is such a simple word but it's so hard to do when you've been hurt." Bucky's song is more about what life used to be like before people started getting worried about kids getting hurt, not being allowed to participate on sports teams, things like that. I really like both these songs, not just because of the words, but because of the meaning. If you ever have the chance to listen to either of these I'd highly recommend them. If people aren't able to get them, I could probably find the words and post them if people are interested..

And, yet another random thing that just popped into my head. Does anyone remember the song Dear Mister Jesus? It was sung by a girl who was five years old, and it talked about child abuse. I have it as an MP3 file and I've always thought it was neat.

Anyway, I've got dishes to wash, and I'm thinking about making potato salad today so I'm going to go away for now but I just wanted to write a little bit about a few of these songs. Later everyone.

I love checking out new music! Thanks for posting about these. I just downloaded them but haven't listened yet. I love songs with messages and stories too. Speaking of those, I've been telling everyone about my friend Justin's music, it's fun and he has lyrics that just amaze me! If you get a chance, check out his myspace page! All the songs are great, but really listen to the lyrics to Hanging On and War is About Death. You may have to listen a few times to get them all since it's hip-hop, but it'll be worth it, believe me! Zullo, his band, is also worth checking out! If you like it, maybe you could repost? Have a great day, and I'm gonna go listen to these songs!

Check out Bucky's I'll Walk on his myspace page.... www.myspace.com/buckycovington

It is just a partial, gotta listen to the whole song to really get it, but that one has an amazing story to tell and he sings it very very well.

is my personal favorite song on Bucky's new--it rocks and it tells a great story with humor.

I saw him in concert yesterday in Zellwood, FL and he and his band were amazing live.

I'm beginning to think I should just download the entire album. I purchased I'll walk and it was definitely good. Hmm. Maybe I'll just get them all, after previewing them. Thanks for the tips.
