Office 2007

Since I can't be left out of the fun, I've decided to download the 60-day trial version of Office 2007. Okay, so it's not only that. I want to evaluate it since we're most likely going to have to start putting it on client machines in the next few months, and I want to see how it works before I get put into a situation where I have to start training people on it. I'm currently downloading the first of two files that will add up to a total of just over 700 megs. Cable definitely rules!!!! I'd love to upgrade to Vista too, but I honestly don't think my desktop could handle it. I barely meet the minimum system requirements, and I don't want to risk this system just yet. My laptop could handle it, but I think I'm going to wait just a little while for that, as much as I don't want to. So, maybe in a day or so I can give everyone a totally unquallified opinion of Office 2007. We'll see what happens.

Well, the first download is almost done, so I think I'm going to go and start the second one. I need to create a system restore point first too, just in case. If I decide not to buy before the end of my 60-day trial I'm probably going to lose my Office 2003 installation anyway, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. Catch you all later.

I'm steering clear of Vista for the foreseeable future. For now, XP suites my needs quite nicely, thanks. *smile* So, tell me, what would Office 2007 do for me? Right now I don't have any MS Office products installed.

Um, I'm trying to figure out that one myself. SMILE! It's a whole new experience from what I'm used to, and with the very limited time I've spent with it, there are definitely some things I like, but there's a lot I have to learn yet too. The good thing is that it didn't wipe out my original Office installation this time so I can go back to it any time.

I will be very curious as to your view on Office 2007. I got both Vista and Office today in the mail. I'll probably hold off on Vista for a while, but am anxious to try Office 2007.
