I've been writing about my crazy, not-so-good week. I figured that it was time to put something a little lighter up here, and this was purrrrrfect! I got this poem in an email this morning and just had to post it. I don't know who the original author is, but this is totally hysterical!

GUIDE CATS FOR THE BLIND

The word "futile" springs to mind. "Mission impossible": yes, that's the attempt to harness for mankind the intelligence of cats.

You made a basic error: now let me expound;
This "master-servant" thing's OK, but not that way around!

We don't do the faithful subject, we don't do the daily grind;
You should never have attempted this: guide cats for the blind.

Give Kitty so much trust, and we'll abuse the privilege:
You think you're going out - you're opening the fridge!

You think I'm trying to help you? I'm not serving man, but mammon:
You think you've gained a faithful friend - you've lost a plate of salmon!

I might leave you down the High Street: I'll be back when I have dined.
We get very, very hungry, being guide cats for the blind.

It can't be very pleasant - of this have little doubt -
To have your head stuck in a cat-flap, whether facing in our out.

You could be here a day or two, with half of you out in the rain;
I've got to go, I've things to do: maybe I'll pass this way again.

A dog would go for help: cats are not that way inclined;
Cats have better things to do than being guide cats for the blind.

Of some matters I am ignorant, but this I know for certain:
The best place for a blind man isn't halfway up a curtain!

Why do they have to be up on a roof at 4 a.m.?
It's a perfect place for me, but what's in it for them?

It was where I had to go, and he just tags along behind;
I don't know why: only a fool would follow guide cats for the blind.

I once met a man called Pavlov. From time to time he rang a bell.
Simple things make humans happy. But I have to say that, well,
I found it a disturbance, and, poor chap, I think he knew it,
And soon he only rang his bell when I wanted him to do it.

Did you ask for our assistance? If you did, well, we declined.
Here we are, an oxymoron: guide cats for the blind.

I'm trying to kill some time so thought I'd post another entry this morning. Unfortunately, I've got speech turned off and my braille isn't really tracking right, so I've got to just sort of wing it. Hmm. Maybe I'll check my braille settings first? Nope, they're right. And, now it's tracking again. I see, it's because I'm typing too fast. Oh well, it's working so who am I to complain?

So anyway, it's finally Friday. I am soooooooo glad of that for several reasons. The biggest reason is that I'm just plain tired! A couple of weeks back, [Bad username or site: :coke_drinker @ livejournal.com] wrote about taking Melatonin in order to get his sleeping schedule back to normal. Well, I think I'm going to be trying that tonight. For no apparent reason, I'm not sleeping well, which then makes it really difficult to work when I'm tired. Pretty soon I'm going to start giving people3 incorrect commands and that's going to mess up not only me but them too. GRRR! So I'm going to get some of that today and see how it works. I'm kind of interested because I've heard that you can have some really weird dreams when you take Melatonin. Maybe I'll be able to write some entries about the dreams if they're not too weird. SMILE!

So I was going to write about that, and now that I'm done I don't know what else to write about. I'm planning on having a boring weekend, although I do need to work on the rest of my hand-outs for my current class. I did manage to get some things embossed yesterday though, sol that's a good thing. I guess then I'll go and do something productive. Maybe I'll make a couple of phone calls or something. I'll write more later if I have anything interesting to say. Oh, and any mistakes in this entry are intentional. Okay, so they're not, but I can't proofread right now since I'm not at home and can't use speech. Byue for now!
