So this falls into the category of stupid statements of the century. [livejournal.com profile] masterofmusings is still trying to install and configure programs on his new laptop. He was looking on the Winzip site for the download and wasn't having much luck for a while. I offered to send it to him, and he said that I couldn't because it was an executable file and those don't send through Windows Live Messenger. So, in typical me fashion, and completely without thinking I said, "Okay, so I'll zip it for you." Hmm. Let's see what's wrong with this statement. Zipping a program that's used to unzip files ... Yes, Windows does have its own utility for this, but it's so incredibly SLOW!!!! Sometimes I wonder ...

If it makes you feel better, [livejournal.com profile] masterofmusings is incorrect. Windows Live Messenger will allow you to send executeable files. I've done it on multiple occasions.
