I love kitchen gadgets! That potato masher sounds pretty cool. I just got a cool kitchen gadget myself. Maybe you've heard of it or have it. It's the Back to Basics Apple Peeler/corer/slicer. This thing is pretty sweet, although when I got it I had no idea how to use it. It looks like something you'd find in a guy's workshop or tool bench or something. It's mechanical, not electric, and it peels, cores, and slices an apple within seconds! It can also just peel it or just core and slice it. If you slice it, it slices the apple into this crazy spiral that looks like a slinky and then you can continue slicing it with a knife however you want. I made apple crisp a few nights ago because I just couldn't wait to use the thing! I posted the recipe on my journal if you're interested. It makes your apartment smell wonderful while it's baking! The peeler can also peel potatoes. It's great!
