I'm not quite sure how I'm going to get rid of the used oil yet. I want to make sure I'm not going to be damaging any pipes or anything.

I bought my meat thermometer from http://www.braillebookstore.com. I wouldn't be without it. So many things say to cook them to a specific internal temperature, and it's great to be able to know when that temp has been reached. It was definitely worth it for me, especially for chicken and pork and stuff.
