Is This Ever Going to Stop?

I've written about this before, but it's still a big problem. The person who had my cell number previously apparently really got herself into some serious trouble. Today I received a call from a law firm requesting that she return the call. I'm still getting text messages from her friends, and even her own mother didn't know she'd changed her number. Okay, so I know I could change my number again, and I suppose that if things don't start getting better I just might be forced to do it, but I shouldn't have to do something like that because of someone else's situation. Granted, when I called the law firm back, the person I spoke with was very understanding and said that my number would be removed from their records, but I feel like I'm being left to pick up the pieces. Maybe I'm making too big a deal out of this, I don't know. But you'd think that in five months, people would start to get the hint but it's not happening.

Anyway, rant over. I just get so frustrated when I get these calls.

I feel your pain. Apparently a "Mr. Erikson" listed my cell phone number on a credit application, and now the bill collectors are after him. Of course they don't believe me when I tell them they have a wrong number, and they keep addressing me as "Mrs. Erikson." Sigh.

WE still get letters and bills from a couple of people who lived here fifteen years ago asking for payment on their student loans. Sadly, once a number or address is associated with someone, it's hard to make it stop WE've had our current landline number for I think 4 years, but I heard that people are stil calling our old landline looking for us.

For the past, oh, ten days or so, I'd been getting calls from some bank. They would just call and, if I didn't pick up, not leave a message. So,w hen I tried to call the number back, I would get connected to that bank. So, decided to pick up last night and they asked for a Sue soneone-or-other. Told them they had the wrong number and said they would remove me from their list. A friend of mine has been having the same issue.
