Yay!!!!!

Well, my text message definitely did make it here so I'm glad. On Wednesday morning I'm leaving, and I won't have Internet access until sometime on Friday afternoon when I get back home, so I want to be able to have some way to communicate or whatever. I want to remind everyone that on my profile page is a link to send me a text message, and I'm always up for messages. So, feel free to use that link, and if you actually have my number, feel free to use that for texting as well. Have I mentioned that I think text messages are totally neat? And, keep in mind that I'm still fairly new at this so the novelty hasn't worn off yet, even if I have been able to do it since April.

is there a trick to getting your text messages to post? I've never been successful and i've tried off and on for the last few months.

Honestly, I don't know. It took me a few tries for my number to get verified, but once that happened it was no problem. If you've been able to get your number verified, send a text message with the following format:

POST (subject) message body.

POST is written in all caps, the subject is inside parenthesis, and the body is just written straight. I don't know why mine wouldn't work at first, but it definitely seems to be working now.

Not that i know that the heck I'm talking about, don't you need to set up text on your account? I'm sure I'm stating the obvious but just a thought. I'm jealou of all the texters, do me a favor. Wish for the nex five months to go by faster so I can buy my talking cell, please? smile.

Oh, definitely. I'm just assuming that she's done the set-up, and either attempting to have the number verrified or had it verrified and just can't post. You know what they say about assuming though.

Which number are you sending your LJ text messages to? If your number is verified, send them to 89855. What you text should then show up in your journal.
Hope this helps.

Yes, texting is awesome. I don't think you need to put post in all caps. I've done it without, and it works just fine.

I don't like texting, as I find it very slow and awkward. LOL! My sister is texting me from Hawaii, while I am at her place... it takes me forever.

I can relate to your finding text messages fun. I finally got a phone that allowed me to text in August so even though I should be over the excitement of being able to text message by now, it's still fun. Good luck with your trip and hope the weather isn't to bad for you. Ours is not good and isn't supposed to get much better.
