Are People Really This Stupid?

So last night I went and found a new microwave. It's home, and it's set up and working. This morning I decided that I was going to go manual searching to see if I could actually locate an accessible version. I found it, and I started reading. Really close to the top was this warning: "Do Not Attempt to operate this oven with the door open." First of all, microwaves don't even turn on anymore if the door is open. Second, do these manual writers seriously think we're that dumb? HELLO!!!! SMILE! Stupid statement of the day!!!

Yes they probably think people are that dumb because they've probably gotten at least a thousand calls from people who tried doing just that. I.e., people really are that dumb.

This is worse than having my dad read this manual for a product he purchased... It originally was translated from Chinese to English, and the writing was atrocious!!!! I couldn't stop laughing, but I have no idea why they would insert such information in the manual any more. Are people that stupid??? LOL

The general rule of things like that is: if it's written as a warning in a manual, it's usually because at least one person skipped or failed common sense 101. They don't write these things just on possibilities.

Besides, it's the US. People sue people for crap like that.
