Need Your Feedback

Hi everyone. Want to help me do my job? Great! I thought you would. So,
here's the deal. (Sorry, no monetary compensation will be given for helping me. You will, however, have the satisfaction of knowing that you've helped me with yet another presentation. Won't that feel great?)

On August 29th I'm going to be doing a presentation on DAISY. This is apparently supposed to be
pretty involved, and one of the things I'd like to do is put together a
chart showing the different types of DAISY players, both hardware and
software, features, media types supported, things like that. I have
experience with some of these players but not all, and I'm hoping that those of you who have experience with some of the others could help me fill in the blanks.

The players that I can comfortably discuss are the PlexTalk, the Book Port, and FS-Reader for desktop and PAC Mate. I know there are many other products out there, but I'm really not familiar with them or their features and would really like to talk with people who are familiar with them rather than just using the web sites to get information. I plan to include the Victor Reader Stream as well since that should be officially released by the time I give this presentation.

The feature list that I'm thinking about at the moment is:

1. Media type; CD, Compact Flash, SD card, Etc.

2. Battery life

3. Audio output; external speaker, headphones, etc.

4. File types supported; DAISY 2/3, other audio files, text files, Braille
files, etc.

5. Size/dimensions/weight

I'm sure there are other things to cover, but this is another area where I'd like feedback. What drew you to a particular player? What features were you looking for when choosing your player?

One more catch. I have to somehow be able to relate all of this information into transitioning from high school to college. So, I'm hoping that you guys are up to the challenge and can help me out. I'll really appreciate any feedback you can give me. Thanks!
