Both [livejournal.com profile] masterofmusings and I got 9/10 today, and missed the exact

I'm Reminded Why I Don't Like Egg ...

Especially when it's all over my face. I suppose I could pass the blame onto
Skype, but I suspect that [livejournal.com profile] masterofmusings would give me all kinds of crap for it, so whatever.
Anyway, here's the story.

My primary phone number is a SkypeIn number
because it's nice and cheap, and the quality has gotten incredibly good. I'm
using the latest version of Skype, which still has a few accessibility
problems but works very well overall. Lately, Skype has started sending out
emails when a new voicemail is received. Unfortunately, for whatever reason,
I wasn't getting all the notifications in either my email inbox or in my
spam folder even though the alert was set to on. Most times I answer
incoming calls anyway, so I didn't really think anything of it.

A little while ago, I decided to spend a little time relaxing in bed
snuggling with the cats. While there, I received a call and subsequent
voicemail. The number was unknown, so I wasn't able to find a way to get to
the play voicemail icon, which left me with the option of calling my Skype To Go number to
check my voicemails remotely. And that's when I discovered several missed
messages. However, the one that most embarrasses me is the one from the
radiology department that came in on March 26th informing me that, yes, you
guessed it, my ultrasound appointment was being cancelled. So yeah, I feel
just a touch stupid. I'm hoping I've solved this voicemail problem though by
setting up text messaging to my cell phone when new messages come in, so
we'll see what happens. I just hope this situation doesn't repeat itself
anymore. SMILE!!
